Synchronizing Service Containers |
This topic describes the procedure to synchronize the service containers. |
|
While developing distributed applications, data across the service containers needs to be sychronized so that all the members of a group have up-to-date information. This is done by forming a ring and sharing the same machine name or IP address address and port number.
- Click Synchronize Service Containers on CUSP. The Choose Target dialog box is displayed. By default, the first component in the List of Components is selected and the target related to that component is displayed.
- Click OK in the Choose Target dialog box, if you want to synchronize the target that is displayed, and proceed to step 5 of this task. Click Cancel to select a different target. The Synchronize Service Containers page appears, displaying the list of components along with the machine name or IP address, and port number in the Machine Name\IP address and Port Number text boxes respectively.
- Select the required service, for example, CoBOC Service or Rule Service, from the List of Components. The Choose Target dialog box is displayed.
- Click the required Service in the dialog box and click OK. A list of 'DN's of the service container that embeds CoBOC or Rule Engine, machine name or IP address, and the port number of the selected service is displayed in the respective Synchup Identifiers, Machine Name\IP address, and Port Number text boxes respectively.
- Select the required synchup identifier from the Synchup Identifier list box.
- Make the necessary changes to the Machine Name\IP address and Port Number and click Save.
Note: The Save button is enabled only when you modify any of the content. For the changes to take effect on the instances configured to the corresponding database, restart each service container.
The service containers are now synchronized and will share or update the data as and when the data is updated in any of the service containers . To synchronize all the service containers of a particular Service Group, repeat steps 5 and 6.
